On March 27, 2015, Assistant Professor Denpong Soodphakdee, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Communications, addressed the opening remark for “The 34th National Graduate Research Conference”. The welcome speech was delivered by Associate Professor Akachai Sang-in, Dean of Graduate School of Chiang Mai University and chief of the Council of the Graduate Studies Administrators of Public and Autonomous Universities, while the conference facts were reported by Associate Professor. Surasakdi Wongratanacheewin, Dean of Graduate School. The conference was organized at Mor-Din-Daeng Conference Hall and Mitraphap Conference Hall, Conventional Academic Building, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. With more than 300 participants, the conference welcomed a great deal of presenters and observers from various universities and institutions. The presentation session was divided into two types of presentation: oral and poster presentation. Topics of the paper include the studies in Physical sciences, Biological science, Health science, Science and Technology, and Humanities and Social sciences.

Remarkably, Dr. Nisachol Chamnongsri, Ph.D. student in Information Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, has received the Professor Kanok Wongtra-ngan Excellent Dissertation Award on the title of “Metadata Development for Management of a Digitized Palm Leaf Manuscript”, and thesis advisor, Associate Professor Lampang Manmart, due to the fruitful utilization and application with huge benefits of research to society.
On this occasion, Professor Banchong Mahaisavariya, Vice President for Administration of Mahidol University, as a keynote speaker for the conference, gave a special lecture on “Graduate Studies: Publications and University Ranking” which contained a board knowledge for graduate student, staff, and those interested.

The National Graduate Research Conference is the collaboration of the Graduate Studies from public and autonomous universities in Thailand under the Council of the Graduate Studies Administrators of Public and Autonomous Universities (CGAU) in order to (1) promote the sharing of research between student and professor of each university; (2) develop the quality of research of graduate student; and (3) publish the utilized research to develop country and the nation. The conference is circulated for each year where the Graduate School, Khon Kaen University, has been the host for the 34th National Graduate Research Conference in 2015. Besides, the 35th National Graduate Research Conference will be hosted by Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, Chachoengsao Province, on June 25 – 26, 2015.
