VUW Students from New Zealand Attended the Special Lecture on “Rural Development in Agriculture”


On January 31, 2014, Associate Professor Dr. Thawalwong Ratanasiri, Vice President for International Relations and Cooperation Strategies welcomed Professor Malcolm McKinnon, staff, and students from Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) at the Graduate School, Khon Kaen University. This visit is under the Understanding Southeast Asia Project supported by the Government of New Zealand. The visit is to open up chances for students to learn and experience Thai culture, way of living, and Isan activities especially from the special lecture on “Rural Development in Agriculture” by Associate Professor Dr. Chaicharn Wongsamun, lecturer of MRDM Program, Graduate School, and Head of Agricultural Extension Department, Faculty of Agriculture. The lecture provided the information and discussion of rural development and agriculture of the Northeastern Region which covered the basic information and the philosophy of agriculture planning in order to reach the goal of sufficient living, happy society with equity, fairness, and resilience.
