Graduate School, Khon Kaen University, Achieves Success as Thailand’s First to Pass EdPEx 300 Assessment, Reinforcing Excellence and the Power of Collaboration within the Graduate Studies Community

The Graduate School, Khon Kaen University (GS KKU), has made a significant achievement, becoming the first graduate school in Thailand to pass the EdPEx (Education Criteria for Performance Excellence) quality assessment at the 300-point level for 2025 (B.E. 2568), conducted by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). This remarkable achievement, which reflects the collective efforts of all sectors, marks a significant milestone in the university's journey towards excellence.

Prof. Dr. Kiattichai Faksri, Dean of the Graduate School, Khon Kaen University, stated that “This success is the result of systematic operations, a strong focus on quality, and continuous delivery of value to customers and stakeholders. It also highlights the integration of collaborative efforts among the Graduate School, faculty networks, administrators, faculty members, staff, and students. Achieving recognition at the EdPEx 300 level demonstrates the high standards and excellence in graduate education management at Khon Kaen University.”

GS KKU is driven by the vision of “Sustainable Graduate Studies for Khon Kaen University and the Nation: Grad for Growth”, emphasizing the quality of graduate research and the advancement of higher education management, together with the goal of achieving outstanding outcomes, enhancing the quality of graduate thesis research, promoting academic programs and admissions, encouraging applications for external research funding to support graduate research assistants, strengthening the graduate studies network, and advancing modern learning support systems and services.

The outcomes of past initiatives reflect continuous development in every dimension, ranging from the increase in number and diversity of national and international student populations, particularly graduate researchers who serve as a vital force in generating research outputs, the advancement of high-quality thesis research published in leading academic journals, attraction and collaboration with external research funding sources and the creation of digital systems and innovative management practices that effectively address the needs of graduate students and faculty members within the Khon Kaen University community, thereby supporting the delivery of value to society.

These achievements are not the sole accomplishments of the Graduate School, but rather the collective results of the entire Khon Kaen University community. It is the combined efforts of everyone, from building support systems to driving outcomes, that has led to the design of interdisciplinary programs, management of student admissions, and enhancement of service systems, and the promotion of international-standard, high-quality research integrated with graduate curriculum.

The EdPEx 300 assessment is therefore not only a tool to confirm the quality of the Graduate School but also empirical evidence of the “power of collaboration” that all sectors of Khon Kaen University have genuinely contributed to. It reinforces the university’s vision of becoming “A World-Leading Research and Development University”. This represents a shared pride for everyone who has worked together to advance graduate studies at Khon Kaen University toward excellence and the creation of value for society.
